The Academy offers a range of performing arts courses and workshops specializing in musical theatre, music, drama and dance.
BROADWAY STARS
Grades 2-8
DATES: October 2017 – May 2018
PRICING: $450/session (2 sessions - students must attend both sessions), $50 one time costume fee
This program offers training in classic and contemporary Broadway musical theatre and culminates with an end of year show. Previous shows include: Aladdin Jr., Cinderella, Annie and Peter Pan. YAYA (Young Actors for Young Audiences)

The YAYA course provides musical theatre training through theatre-based exercises and games from the perspective of Jewish heritage and Yiddish culture. The first session focuses on storytelling, building trust within the ensemble, tactic and objective work and character development. The students are introduced to the Yiddish language through song. The second session will focus on the production as they work through the script, putting all the elements of the show together. Based on core Jewish values and inspired by the vision of Dora and Bryna Wasserman, the award-winning Young Actors for Young Audiences (YAYA) program forms the cornerstone of youth arts education at the Segal Centre.
BROADWAY AND BEYOND - This course is full for 2017-2018

DATES: January 2018 – April 2018 (starts January 11, 2018)
Thursdays, 6-8 pm & Sunday, 10am-1pm
PRICING: $950/session (1 session), $50 one time costume fee, plus tax for students 14+
For teens who want to expand their love of musical theatre, Broadway and Beyond is where the serious young actor comes to take their game to the highest level and learns what it takes to put on a professional level production.
SEGAL ACADEMY CAMPS
For grades 2-6
Our Ped Day and Passover camps are the best of what the Academy has to offer all in a very short period of time! Campers will participate in all kinds of performing arts activities- theatre games and exercises, dancing, singing and circus! Campers will spend the day with a variety of our incredibly talented and professional instructors. It’s a great way to see if they would want to come back for a longer period of time!
Our ‘Intermission’ Spring Break camp gives campers a chance to see what it would be like to be in one of our year-long after-school courses, all in 1 week! Campers will receive training in the performing arts- drama, singing, dancing and circus- and they will incorporate their new skills into a short presentation on the last day!

Our 2 week summer camp will give campers an opportunity to learn about acting, theatre and performance. Through indoor and outdoor games and activities, including a show on the last day, campers will work on public speaking, self-confidence, and social skills. They will be trained in 4 disciplines of performing arts: acting, singing, dancing and circus!
