A Broadway favourite, Same Time, Next Year was described by the New York Times as "the funniest comedy about love and adultery to come to Broadway". The play follows the twenty-five year love affair of Doris and George (married – but not to each other) who meet for one weekend a year. A metaphor for the changing moral landscape of post-war United States, Same Time, Next Year is a charming and poignant story that explores the complexities of love and human relationships.

Coup de Coeur

"Much anticipated, the sixth edition of Festival TransAmériques was recently announced. Martin Faucher (who directed our co-productions of Old Wicked Songs and Vigil) is one of the festival's curators. This series, presented in a variety of languages, celebrates contemporary dance and theatre from around the world. Of special note to Segal Centre audiences is Seeds by Annabel Soutar. It is a collaboration between Montreal's Porte Parole (who performed the trilogy Sexy Beton in our Studio) and Crows Theatre of Toronto (who were associate producers of Geometry in Venice ). The play is directed by Segal favourite Chris Abraham (whose credits here include: Glass Menagerie, Hedda Gabler and I Am My Own Wife). Seeds examines the four-year legal battle between Saskatchewan farmer Percy Schmeiser and Monsanto, one of the biggest biotech corporations and asks: what's really on your dinner plate? This is documentary theatre so every word spoken onstage is a verbatim quote. I saw an earlier incarnation of this play and it was excellent. Plays at Théâtre d'Aujourd'hui June 7 at 7:00pm, June 8 at 7:00pm and June 9 at 4:00pm. See you there." – Paul Flicker
