Two people (married — but not to each other) meet for one weekend year after year in a nice little country inn. Only one weekend — after that they go back to their lives, their kids and their spouses. Over the course of 24 years, they develop an emotional intimacy deeper than what one would expect. The play conveys a rainbow of emotions over a quarter-century, as life gives and takes away, and the world continues to change.

Winner of the 2010 Frankie Award for Best Fringe Festival Production, Miss Sugarpuss Must Die! follows the life of Miss Sugarpuss, from her seedy beginnings to her rise as a star on the burlesque stage... but at what cost? A clever take on the burlesque tradition.

At 10pm, stop by the ArtLounge after the show to be seduced by the singing styles of Miss Sugarpuss herself with the Holly Gauthier Jazz Quintet!

Quebec singer-songwriter Térez Montcalm performs songs from her latest album Here's to You: Songs For Shirley Horn, a tribute to one of the great jazz songstress of the 20th century.

Inspired by its renowned predecessor the Orford String Quartet, the New Orford String Quartet has received unanimous critical acclaim, including two Opus Awards for Concert of the Year in the classical music category. Hailed for their "ravishingly beautiful tone" the members of the New Orford String Quartet are all principal players in the Montreal and Toronto Symphony Orchestras. Dedicated to promoting Canadian works, they provide a fresh perspective on interpretations of classic string quartet repertoire.

The quiet Montreal suburb of Chateauguay happens to be home to a pair of Canada's most exciting and talented young saxophonists, Al McLean and Cameron Wallis. For over a decade these two young men have been a prominent force on the local and international jazz scenes, earning a reputation for continually raising the bar for all of the city's jazz musicians. In this closing concert of the Power Jazz Series the duo performs the kind of music that excites and appeals to jazz aficionados and casual listeners alike.

Grace, spirit, sensuality and artistic rigour are the characteristics of La Otra Orilla, the company directed by dancer Myriam Allard and singer Hedi “El Moro” Graja. They are back with a new piece that will delight the spectator, as audiences and critics alike are enchanted with its hybrid, iconoclastic flamenco, richly poetic and very contemporary style. With a rigorous blend of dance, music and video, this new work, co-produced by Danse Danse, will benefit from a creative residency at the Segal Centre.

CinemaSpace continues its Winter/Spring season with a retrospective of renowned late filmmaker Stan Brakhage!

This event represents the first major solo presentation of Brakhage's work in Montreal since his last visit in 2001 (invited by Hors Champ), two years before his death, and includes many films to be screened for the first time in Montreal.
Curated by wife Marilyn Brakhage, who will be in attendance for parts 3 and 4.

Prof. Christina Tarnopolsky (Department of Political Science) and Andreas Apergis (Founding Member, Scapegoat Carnivale Theatre Company) will join us for the final installment of our riveting lecture series, in partnership with IPLAI (The Institute for Public Life of Arts and Ideas).

This talk will discuss Sophocles' Philoctetes and its treatment of the relationship between democracies and danger. The lecture will consider the relationship between openness, transparency, and free speech and its possible deleterious effects in times of great danger, such as post 9-11 United States.
