Coup de Coeur

Who’s that knocking at the door?

''For the ninth time, the singers of the Atelier lyrique de l'Opéra de Montréal are presenting a production of their own, in collaboration with the National Theatre School of Canada and the Monument-National: two short, rarely performed operas that combine humour and suspense, emotion and wonder —The Old Maid and the Thief and Amahl and the Night Visitors by Italian-American composer Gian Carlo Menotti, directed by Martine Beaulne. Each year, the Atelier's production offers an opportunity to discover an emerging generation of artists: this double bill will feature nine opera singers and pianist, four bursary recipients from the National Theatre School of Canada. At the Monument-National on April 13, 16, 18, and 20 at 7:30 pm.
