Do you remember the explosion of the A-bomb in Hiroshima? Maybe you recall the sad assassinations of John F Kennedy, Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy? Does the colorful lights of Expo 67 still bring a smile to your lips? Are your eyes still averted to the sky as you remember the hectic race between USA and USSR to reach the moon and Armstrong’s famous quote: “That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind”?

Written, directed and performed by the extremely talented vocal imitator Rick Miller, BOOM is a dynamic new solo performance that documents the music, culture and politics that shaped the Baby Boom generation (1945-1969). Currently running from the 20th of March until the 10th of April at the Segal Center for Performing arts, BOOM takes us through 25 turbulent years, and gives voice to over a 100 influential politicians, activists and musicians. It's a mind-blowing experience for audiences of all generations.

With the help of cutting-edge multimedia: projections, video & musical clips, live instruments costumes and props, Rick Miller uses his chameleonic voice to portray all the unforgettable characters that marked global events such as they unfolded: the Cold War, McCarthyism, Beatlemania, Trudeau mania, JFK, MLK, Mao, Vietnam… His various stories spiral into the “The Summer of Love”, and BOOM ends as it began: with a new generation born into a new world order. The play is an incredible opportunity for young and old to explore and relearn facts about the 25 most tumultuous years in modern history that was shaped by a generation of children who wielded incredible influence due to their numbers and was aided by the advances of technology and communication - Transition radios, television, the car and even the pill!

The extreme talent of Rick Miller is definitely hard to define: Writer, director, actor, singer, musician and many other talents are revealed on and off stage as he whisks us on an incredible historical journey. Go see the show, relive memories and make some new ones to add to your own life journey !
