THE NEXT GENERATION OF QUEBEC JAZZ IN CONCERT FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY!
The Université de Montréal Big Band is made up of some twenty musicians who passionately and energetically explore a repertoire of jazz classics by the great composers and arrangers, as well as Latin music, fusion, and contemporary jazz.
At this special public performance, the Big Band will perform a selection of classic standards, arranged especially by respected New York composer Michael Abene.
Over the last few years, the Big Band has been joined in concert by pianists Oliver Jones and Lorraine Desmarais, composers Michel Legrand and Maria Schneider, saxophonists David Liebman and Rémi Bolduc, trumpet player Ingrid Jensen, bass player Alain Caron and artists Gregory Charles, Carol Welsman and Ginette Reno.
