QUEBEC'S THEATRICAL PHENOMENON RE-IMAGINED IN A MUST-SEE MUSICAL

"The most widely anticipated première this season" - Pat Donnelly, The Gazette

"Hot-new show" - Richard Ouzounian, The Toronto Star

Michel Tremblay's groundbreaking play is re-imagined into an exhilarating new musical in which the hopes and dreams of twelve women (mothers, daughters, sisters, and neighbours) are woven together in a hilarious and heartwarming celebration of the human spirit.

Based on the French musical sensation seen by over 150,000 spectators, Montreal audiences have the chance to be the first to experience this premiere English musical right here at the Segal Centre!

What would you do if you won the jackpot?

Germaine Lauzon, a wife and mother, lives a life of dreary domesticity. Her luck finally changes when she wins 1,000,000 trading stamps from her local grocery store. She invites her closest friends and relatives over for a stamp-sticking party, but celebration quickly turns to resentment as thwarted aspirations, jealousy and bitter longing float to the surface. So distracted by what she's won, Germaine must re-gain sight of all she stands to lose.

Meet the cast & creative team

Featuring a stellar cast hailing from across the country and a live band on stage, this new production combines the extraordinary talents of acclaimed director René Richard Cyr, rock-star Daniel Bélanger (music), and Broadway's Neil Bartram (English music & lyrics) and Brian Hill (English book).
