COUP DE COEUR |
"In an Olympic outburst of creativity, Serge Denoncourt is set to wow Quebec audiences with three stellar productions in the next few months. Rouge, Maryse Warda's translation of RED by John Logan (which you may have seen here last season directed by Martha Henry), plays at Rideau Vert until 12 April. His translation of Christopher Hampton's Liaisons dangereuses runs at Duceppe from April 9th to May 17th. This summer, in collaboration with Just for Laughs, Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, will mount Denoncourt's production of Cyrano de Bergerac from July 16th to August 16th. All three productions will feature the work of François Barbeau, one of the greatest costume designers this country has ever produced. I shall certainly see all three.
Our friends at Scapegoat Carnivale are premiering a new work at the MAI. BLIND, written by Lindsay Wilson and directed by Alison Darcy, is a play about the persecution of people with albinism in Tanzania. BLIND runs from April 3rd to April 13th. I will be at their Opening Night. For more information, please see : rideauvert.qc.ca, duceppe.com, tnm.qc.ca, scapegoatcarnivaletheatre.com" - Paul Flicker
