The much-buzzed-about Montreal remount of Funny Girl, the musical that propelled Barbra Streisand to stardom, continues at the Segal Centre for Performing Arts (5170 Côte Ste-Catherine Rd.). The celebrated musical chronicles the public trials and private struggles of vaudeville sensation Fanny Brice, played by Gabi Epstein. Director Peter Hinton told The Montreal Gazette: “We’re not trying to imitate (Streisand) or create a Funny Girl that mimics the movie, but certainly there are degrees of homage in there.” Funny Girl is on till Nov. 8. The play is dark on Fridays. Admission: $32.50 to $64. Tickets: 514-739-7944 or segalcentre.org.
