For the first time in 10 years, the Segal Center for the Performing Arts will be taking on a Shakespeare production. The performance of "Othello" is in association with Scapegoat Carnivale Theatre.

In Shakespeare's tragedy, the valiant exploits of the Moorish general Othello have earned him the gratitude of the Venetian state he serves and the love of Desdemona, who defies social convention and her father's will to marry him. Othello's advisor, Iago, harbours a secret resentment. During a mission to Cyprus, Iago plants the seeds that will destroy Othello's love.

Alison D'Arcy and Joseph Shragge are the co-artistic directors of Scapegoat Carnivale Theatre. Alison is the director of the play and Joseph is the assistant director and edited the play for this production.
